FOUR SEASONS SCHOOL
⚡️ 4th prize ⚡️
Two simple moves: Stretching the existing sport hall + Glitching a "standard" school plan with the Four Seasons Rooms.
The cluster learning landscape includes a 'four seasons room'. This room is located outside the insulated area and is used differently throughout the seasons. The project makes sustainability visible to the children. The vertical garden lends itself to a variety of experiments that allow the imagination of teachers and pupils to run wild.
There are a number of points where sustainability and our connection to current environmental issues are put into practice in a visible and playful way for children.
– The heated volume is smaller and the consequences are directly visible.
– The wooden building is covered with solar panels. A board in the school yard shows the amount of energy produced.
– The four-season room can be used as a vertical garden for planting, but also as a playground in bad weather.
– The building has no basement.
The sports hall is a simple extension to the existing sports hall on the north side of the site.
